Glaive Volleyball Episode 13 Transcript

Hello there and welcome to Glaive Volleyball. A lot is going on as seasons wrap up with the regular season or the tournaments. So you know what I do. I just jump into it. So let’s do that. Southern Connecticut defeated Assumption 3 to 1. I was at that game. Taylor Jones had 57 assists for the Owls. That’s a new program record. Erika Benson had 16 kills and three blocks. This game started out, Southern Connecticut easily one set 1 Assumption came back…came back from trailing, Southern Connecticut in the second the second set. Got the win. Southern was not too happy about that. They fought hard got an easy win third…third set on wouldn’t call it easy but it was a decisive win by a bunch of points and then were able to finish it off in set four. It was a closer, closer set certainly but Southern didn’t didn’t seem to take nicely to have… to not have been able sweep…sweep the game. But it was a big win for Southern if they look to get their chances set. Bridgeport beat Bentley 3 to 2. Southern earlier on defeated New Haven 3 to 2. Now New Haven is traditionally a powerhouse in the NE10 so Southern defeating them that’s a big deal. Abigail Epstein had 17 kills, four blocks, in that one. Gabriela Vazquez had 15 kills and four blocks in the victory. New Haven’s Jessica Akiona had 19 kills. Yale had…Yale had three, Penn had two …Yale wins. Sacred Heart 3 Saint Francis PA 1. SHU 3 FDU 1 for some wins for the Pioneers. Jasmine Rogers had 15 kills and 14 digs in a double-double and Reghan Palanchi 13 kills and four blocks for Sacred Heart as well. Hartford defeated Binghamton 3 to 0 nothing. Georgetown…UConn defeated Georgetown three nothing and defeated Villanova three nothing to sweep their weekend. New Haven defeated Stonehill three-two Emily Berry had 13 kills, three Aces, and three blocks. Fairfield defeated Maris three-nothing and Fairfield now has locked up the top seed in the MAAC tournament and that is it. Thanks for watching, hope you’ll tune in again.
