BRIDGEPORT, CT – In a close contest on Senior Day, the Bridgeport Purple Knights scored a 193.475 to win narrowly over the Southern Connecticut Owls and their 193.075. SCSU for their part set a new Floor program record of 49.2.
On Vault, SCSU’s Hanna Zebdi took first with a 9.850, followed by Joanna Chambers of UB with a 9.750. Lola Sepulveda and Kieran Ross, also of UB had 9.7s.
Over on the Bars, Hannah Stahlbrodt of SCSU posted a 9.875. Chambers and SCSU’s Ciana Rios had 9.750s, and Olivia Imbarlina of UB and Sarah Moussa of Southern swung to 9.725s.
Turning to the treacherous Balance Beam, Sepulveda took first with a 9.850, trailed by Imbarlina’s 9.8, and teammate Nicole Javinett’s 9.775. Angel Lee had SCSU’s best score of 9.7.
Finally on Floor, Libby Allen of Southern took first with a 9.875. Behind came Imbarlina, Rios, SCSU’s Hanna Zebdi, and Alexa Melanson all with 9.850s. Alexis Richardson of UB flipped to a 9.8 as well.
In the All Around, Sepulveda triumphed with a 39.025. Stahlbrodt compiled a 38.325 and Ross had a 38.050.
