Bridgeport, SCSU at Yale Gymnastics Report & Videos

NEW HAVEN, CT – The Yale Bulldogs scored a 194.150 to win the Don Tonry Invitational Saturday afternoon. The Bridgeport Purple Knights scored a 193.150 in the midst of a three meet weekend and the Southern Connecticut Owls posted a 190.525.

Gabrielle Kistner of UB took the Vault crown with her 9.825, Alyssa Firth of Yale score a 9.775, her teammate Aimee Titche, and UB’s Maya Reimers flipped to 9.750s. SCSU’s Cassidy Girolamo had her team’s score of 9.650.

Bridgeport’s Kathryn Doran won Uneven Bars scoring a 9.825, followed by Bianca Leon of SCSU who tallied a 9.8, and Regan Dillon of UB who swung to a 9.775. Jade Buford of Yale and Julianna Roland put up 9.750s on the day.

Yale’s Emma Firmstone and Buford shared the Beam title as they each scored 9.825s, followed closely by their teammate Jacey Baldovino. Nicole Javinett had Bridgeport’s best score of 9.775 and Leon paced SCSU with a 9.650.

On the Floor Exercise, Maya Reimers of Bridgeport scored a huge 9.9 to win the event, as Firth scored a 9.85 and fellow Bulldog Rebecca Chong had a solid 9.8. Yale’s entire rotation scored 9.725 or above.

Hannah Stahlbrodt and Keylea Brothers each had 9.550 for SCSU’s best scores.

In a very competitive All Around contest, Buford took the win putting together a 39.000, just ahead of Firth’s 38.7, as Kistner had a 38.575, Stahlbrodt a 38.350, and Roland a 38.175.
