BOSTON, MA – In the NCAA Session of the Little Boston Invitational Saturday Night, the Maryland Terrapins scored higher then the program ever has in a season opener as the Terps posted a 196.500 bolstered by four strong events. The George Washington Colonials rebounded strongly from a very rough start on Floor, to score especially well on Vault and Balance Beam to put up a 193.775. The West Chester Rams, had a 193.250 which was the best opening-night score of coach Barbara Cardova’s time with the team and was a strong showing in the USAG and Division 2 rankings.

Individually, Maryland’s Alecia Farina and Alexis Rubio had the best Vault scores of the meet as they each scored 9.875s. Cydney Crasa and Deja Chambliss of GW shared third place with the second highest score of 9.85. Their teammate Olivia Norman, and Terps Emma Silberman and Reese McClure sprung to 9.825s on the day. WCU’s Kiah Johnson had her team’s top mark of 9.8 which a score matched by UMD’s Audrey Barber.

On Bars, Barber took first with her 9.85. Farina and fellow teammate Tiara Wright had 9.825s. Anna Warhol and Katya Karpova of GW had 9.8s as did Kirsten Peterman of Maryland. Silberman and WCU’s Melanie Wojewoda put up 9.775s.

Over on the Balance Beam, Olivia Zona of GW, Barber and Wright all had 9.85s narrowly earning the crown with Karpova and McClure each posting 9.825s. Olivia Raymond of GW and Sarah Boyd of WCU had 9.8s to round out the top scorers.

Four would be first on the Floor as Barber, McClure, and their teammate Sabriyya Rouse each tumbled to 9.825s as did West Chester’s Jessica Meakim. GW’s Crasa had a 9.8 and Karpova a 9.775.

Only two gymnasts did the All Around and Barber put together a solid 39.250 trailed by Meakim’s 38.725.
