The 2018 ECAC Division 2 Gymnastics Championship

NEW HAVEN, CT – The Bridgeport Purple Knights Gymnastics team won their tenth straight ECAC Division 2 title Saturday afternoon with a 195.1 score. The West Chester University Rams scored a 192.625 for second and the host Southern Connecticut State University Owls posted a 191.900.

Alexandra Lesperance of Southern and Gabrielle Kistner of Bridgeport shared the Vault title with 9.725s. Maya Reimers of UB had a 9.7, Alexandra Avendano of SCSU posted a 9.675, Kelsey Campbell of Bridgeport scored a 9.650 and Jessica Meakim and Meghan Chan, both of WCU, posted 9.625s.

Kelli Tereshko of UB won the Uneven Bars with a 9.825, ahead of her teammate Campbell as well of Melanie Wojewoda and Myranda Marshall of WCU’s 9.775. Thomara Powell-Brown and Kathryn Doran of UB also had .750s. Kathleen Aberger’s 9.6 was the highest SCSU score.

Lauren Ramirez of Bridgeport won Beam with her 9.875, trailed slightly by Doran’s 9.85, Campbell’s 9.8, Sarah Boyd of WCU’s 9.775 and Keara Loughlin of SCSU’s 9.75.

Reimers won the Floor for UB with a 9.925, ahead of Kistner’s 9.9, and Aberger’s 9.875. Campbell and Kelly Aycock flipped to 9.85s with Avendano and Meakim tallying 9.825s.

Campbell won the All Around title compiling a 39.075, as Reimers had a 38.925 and Doran scored a 38.7.
