BRIDGEPORT, CT – Brown, Yale, and Centenary visited Bridgeport Saturday night in a rare quad meet at Wheeler Recreation Center. The result was a 194.650 first place finish for Yale, followed by UB’s 194.275, Brown’s 192.6 and Centenary’s 190.000
Jacey Baldovino took Vault with a 9.8 for Yale, Gabrielle Kistner of UB had a 9.75, followed by Centenary’s Ashley White and Yale’s Alyssa Firth who had 9.725s. Brown’s Alyssa Gardner flew to a 9.7 as did Rebecca Chong of Yale.
Kelli Tereshko of Bridgeport won the Uneven Bars with her 9.85 ahead of teammate Kelly Aycock and Baldovino’s 9.75s. Jade Buford, and Megan Ryan of the Bulldogs had 9.725s, UB’s Kelsey Campbell, and Brown’s Anya Olson swung to 9.7s. Centenary’s best tally came from Tavia Smith’s 9.65.
Maya Reimers won the Balance Beam for UB with her 9.875, just ahead of fellow Purple Knights Campbell and Kathryn Doran who posted 9.85s. Emma Firmstone led Yale with a 9.825, Lauren Ramirez of UB and Buford held steady for 9.8s. Six gymnasts had 9.775s including Regan Butchness of Brown, Navia Jordan of Centenary, and Charlotte Cooperman, Kiarra Alleyne, Jessica Wang, and Baldovino all of Yale.
Reimers flipped to the best score of the meet on Floor with her 9.925, followed by Aycock’s 9.85, and 9.825s from Kistner, Firth, and Alleyne. Cami Bea Austin led Centenary with a 9.8, a score matched by Firmstone and Buford. Julia Green had Brown’s best score thanks to a 9.775.
Baldovino took the All Around with a 39.075, narrowly over Campbell’s 38.950, and Reimers and her 38.9. Buford compiled a 38.850, Doran had a 38.3, Firmstone a 38.125, Smith a 38.1, and Austin a 36.625.
It was also Senior Day for the Purple Knights. Campbell, Tereshko and Caylee Ford made up this year’s class of ’18.
The various teams now enter the postseason with conference meets this weekend.
