Yale and William & Mary Gymnastics Score Highly

NEW HAVEN, CT – The Yale Women’s Gymnastics team sent their seniors out in style scoring a 194.7 on Senior Day Saturday. Visiting William & Mary put up a 193.00 on a rare trip to John J. Lee Ampitheater.

Yale’s Jacey Baldovino took the All Around with a 39.250 just ahead of teammate Jade Buford’s 39.075. Katie Waldman of W&M compiled a 38.950, and her squadmate Taylor White scored a 37.8.

Waldman had the meet’s best Vault score of 9.825, as Yale’s Alyssa Firth and Baldovino each had 9.75s, and Erika Marr of William & Mary and Rebecca Cong of Yale each had a 9.725.

On bars, Jessica Wang of the Bulldogs picked up a 9.9, as Baldovino, Buford and W&M’s Evan Pakshong scored 9.8s. Yale Senior Megan Ryan scored a 9.775 as did W&M’s Caroline Caponi.

On Beam, Yale had a great rotation on the perilous apparatus as Baldovino anchored with a 9.875, Buford and Wang had 9.8s and Charlotte Cooperman posted a 9.725, as did Madison Dwyer of W&M.

On Floor, Aaliyah Kerr of the William & Mary flipped to a 9.875 for first on the event. Baldovino and Buford each had 9.825s, and Waldman and Firth scored 9.75s. Yale Senior Sloane Smith notched a 9.725 in her final home meet.

Smith, Ryan, and team Captain Allison Bushman were honored post meet on Senior Day. All three have been key parts of the Yale lineup during their careers.
