Noticed Plays.

(This is a not exhaustive very imperfect list of noticed plays that might not make the score sheet. It is very possible a player has far more of any sort of play than are noticed in the heat of action. It is what it is. Read these more as a player had “at least” what is noted here. Note the language is a bit stilted, I’m trying to figure out how to make the information flow better.)

Abby Welch

Had a zone entry, also gained the puck in the offensive zone for a team scoring chance. Also stole it in the UConn end. She also teamed up with Slattery to move the fight the puck out of the PSU zone. Also had a zone entry.

Bella Sutton

From the point are kept the puck from escaping the UConn end many times including for scoring opportunities. On the defensive side came away with the disc numerous times in the PSU end and skated it out. Also disrupted several UConn zone entries, had a steal in the neutral zone, and a clear on the penalty kill.

Aly Hardy

Had several zone entries, including one for a scoring chance, and another from end to end.

Katie McMillan

Went into the UConn area several times and came up with the puck, often for scoring tries. Also grabbed the puck from the Penn State d-zone and brought it out.

Sophie Slattery

Had numerous zone entries including for a short handed try on the penalty kill. She also prevented the puck from leaving the zone once it was in it several times. She also came up with the puck in the O-zone too. Defensively she sent the puck to a teammate who brought it away, and also extracted the biscuit from the PSU goal mouth and out of danger.

Katie Rankin

Intercepted the puck several times in the neutral zone including a time she fed it to Nelson for a zone entry. Additionally moved the puck out of the PSU zone after acquiring it many times, one time by a steal. Also intercepted a pass in the neutral zone.

Shea Nelson

Stickhandled to produce a scoring chance once, and also had a chance on the doorstep of the UConn net. She also moved the puck away from the PSU zone a few times.

Natalie Heising

Had a few zone entries including for a scoring try. Also removed the puck from the goal mouth to eliminate a threat. Defensively exited the Penn State zone a few times. Also stole the puck in the offensive zone and at another point generated a scoring try from in front of the Huskies net.

Kate Rydland

Was noticed keeping the puck within the UConn zone many many times, often for team scoring opportunities. Additionally ended up with the puck several times in her own side and skated it away.

Meike Meilleur

Had a scoring try right in front of the PSU end and also kept the puck from leaving the zone at one point so she could shoot it. Her acquisition of the puck in the neutral zone produced a Rankin scoring opportunity. Also was noted moving the puck out of the PSU zone.

Caileah Forrest

Skated into the UConn zone for a scoring opportunity, also had one right in front of the UConn keeper. Also had a zone exit.

Irene Kiroplis

She disrupted a Huskies scoring try and was noted keeping the puck from leaving the UConn zone during the attack.

Brooke Madsen

Had several steals in the UConn zone, including one right in front of the net allowing a dangerous shot. Also had several clears on the penalty kill. Also produced other zone entries often for scoring chances.

She also got in the way of a UConn pass in the neutral zone on the penalty kill and instead wasted time in their own end. Had several zone exits as well.

Kelsey Crow

From a position high in the UConn zone prevented many a puck from leaving. One of her blocks stopped a UConn odd skater rush. She also got to a puck in the PSU goal mouth and moved it away. She also had the puck many times in the Penn State end and skated it out successfully. A few times she took it all the way down for a zone entry. Also had a few clears on the penalty kill. During a UConn power play she disrupted one of their scoring tries.

Christi Vetter

Had a variety of zone entries for scoring chances including a break. Also stole the puck in the offensive end as well. Had a zone exit from her own end. Additionally stopped a UConn zone entry.

Reese Maccario

Was seen flummoxing a PSU pass.

Justine Fredette

Brought the puck out of her zone and into the PSU one. Also prevented the puck from leaving that zone numerous times including once for a scoring chance.

Taylor Wabick

She and Knutson moved the puck out of the one. Also during another exit from the UConn end sent it to Knutson who broke in and eventually drew the penalty shot. She stole it in the defensive end and eventually got it to Mee who exited it out. Also sent it to Knutson for another zone exit. Additionally kept the puck within the PSU blue line a few times, including producing a scoring try. Defensively she disrupted a PSU scoring chance.

Savannah Bouzide

Had many zone entries. Also acquired the puck in the zone for a scoring chance. Defensively stopped a scoring try by Penn State, and also came up with the biscuit and left the zone with it.

Morgan Wabick

Had a steal in the offensive zone leading to two UConn scoring chances and had an even strength zone entry. Also had a scoring chance of her own on the power play. Additionally had a zone exit.

Kayla Mee

Had numerous zone entries including one for a scoring chance. Also corralled the puck to keep it from leaving the PSU zone, once for a scoring opportunity. She also disrupted a Penn State chance on net.

Theresa Knutson

Had many zone entries including one that led to an odd skater rush with Fredette for a scoring try. Additionally got the puck out of the Huskies zone several times including with Taylor Wabick’s help. She also battled the puck across the blue line. One time she got it down into the other end for a scoring try. There were a few instances where she moved it end to end.

Tristyn Svetek

Intercepted a PSU pass in the UConn zone and skated it out, also stole it from a Nittany Lion at another point and also exited. Had several other zone exits throughout the game. On the offensive side kept the puck from leaving the PSU area, and a scoring chance resulted.

Jaime Fox

Prevented the puck from leaving the offensive zone. Also had multiple zone exits which lead to zone entries or a scoring chance.

Briana Colangelo

Had a scoring chance and a steal in the neutral zone, but clearly had more of a role then these notes indicated.

Leah Lum

She had many zone entries including for a try on net. Also got the puck out of the UConn zone and up to a teammate who skated into the opposite end.

Carley Olivier

Came up with the biscuit in the UConn zone and left with it.

Emily Reid

Disrupted several zone entries, and acquired the puck several times in the d-zone and transitioned it out. Offensively got to the puck in the PSU end, and also kept it from escaping at another time.

Rebecca Lindblad

Had numerous offensive zone entries including one where she brought it from the Huskies section. Had several other zone exits, and a clear on the penalty kill.

Natalie Snodgrass

Had a wide variety of zone entries producing a few scoring opportunities. Other times already in the PSU side she came up with the puck to lead to scoring chances. Also sent it to Lum who sent it to Colangelo in the offensive section for a close call of a scoring try. She also had several exits from her own zone.

Catherine Crawley

She had a steal in the UConn end and sent it to Svetek for a zone exit. She had a zone exit of her own and also disrupted a PSU zone entry. Also came up with the puck in the offensive zone for a try on net.
