Brown Gymnastics: The Seniors

The Brown Bears Women’s Gymnastics team graduated its most recent Senior class. Brooke Williams, Caroline Morant, Tori Kinamon, Jorden Mitchell, and Manager Renee Edelman (who previously competed) finished up their careers on a strong Brown squad. Each made their own contributions to the team over the years. (Videos are either from the Brown Gymnastics account or DFPSports. Information is from Brown Athletics.) The group was part of Brown’s first ever ECAC Championship team in 2014.

Brooke Williams

Williams set all her career highs during the 2015 season.  This included a 9.65 on Vault…

…a 9.6 on Beam…

…and 9.85 on Floor. (Though this is a high scoring routine from a different meet.)

She did not compete heavily in 2017 but contributed heavily in previous seasons. She has ECAC All-Academic Team honors in the past 3 seasons. She was a USAG Scholar-Athlete in 2016. Williams is concentrating (majoring) in Business, Entrepreneurship, and Organizations.

Caroline Morant

Morant set 9.875 career high’s on Vault (2016)…

…Bars (2015)

…and Beam (2017):

…as well as a 9.925 career high in 2017 on Floor Exercise. (Though this routine below was at a different meet.)

She has a career high of 39.175 in the All Around. Morant is concentrating (majoring) in Business, Entrepreneurship, and Organizations.

Morant earned ECAC Co-Gymnast of the Year honors. She qualified for NCAA Regionals as an All-Arounder. (Which she also did in 2014.) She is the 2017 ECAC Floor Champion, and the 2017 Vault, Bars, ad Floor Ivy Champion. She was a 3 time ECAC Gymnast of the Week in ’17. She earned ECAC All-Academic Team honors the past three years.

She won the ECAC Vault Title in 2015 as well as the Ivy Classic floor title that year. She was the ECAC All-Around and Beam champion in 2014 and was the ECAC Rookie of the Year. Morant was Ivy Vault Champion in 2014.

Tori Kinamon

Kinamon, a Bars specialist, set her career high in 2014 contributing to the team’s Ivy Classic title in 2014. She appeared in 2014-16 at various times.

She earned ECAC All-Academic Team honors the past three years, as well as NACGW/W Scholastic All-America Honors in 2016 and 2015.

Kinamon had to fend off a variety of health issues during her career which also earned her the Mari-Rae Sopper Spirit Award. (More on that is available from Brown’s release.)

Kinamon also recently won the Hagy Prize in Human Biology. (Brown release.)

Kinamon is concentrating (majoring) in Health and Human Biology.

Jorden Mitchell

She set a career high on Vault of 9.8 in 2015…

…and a 9.8 high on Bars in 2017. (Though the video below is of a 2016 meet with a high scoring routine.)

On Beam she set a 9.85 career high in 2017…

…and notched a 9.9 high in 2016 on Floor Exercise.

2016 was also the year she set her career high in the All Around of 39.050.

She won the Ivy Classic All-Around Title in 2016 and 2015 and Floor in 2016.

Mitchell earned ECAC All-Academic team honors in 2015, 2016, and 2015 as well as NACGC/W All-America accolades in 2015. She was also an Academic All-Ivy in 2016.

Mitchell is concentrating (majoring) in Health and Human Biology.

Renee Edelman

Edelman was on the competitive team in 2014 and 2015, before transitioning to student manager in 2016 and 2017. She competed in four meets in 2014 and earned ECAC All-Academic Team honors in 2015.
