WEST HARTFORD, CT- The Hartford Hawk’s Women’s Soccer team advanced to the America East Finals Sunday afternoon after topping the Maine Black Bears 1-0. After 72 minutes of scoreless soccer, Hartford’s Elise Galipo dribbled in from the right of the goalkeeper and arced a shot past her into the net for the game winner. Galipo had come into the game after UHa’s Aaliyah Ingram had to leave it due to apparent injury. Hartford had been on a furious attack throughout the half gaining numerous chances, but being unable to get the ball into the net. Galipo had had to dribble into traffic and shoot it quickly, but that was all Hartford needed. With the win Hartford hosts Albany next Sunday in the America East Championship Game with an NCAA bid on the line.
