Toyama and Niigata clashed twice this past week with the Albirex taking both games. On the 28th the Albirex won 79 to 76 led by Thomas Kennedy’s 24 points 6 rebounds and 3 blocks. Patrick Sullivan put up 12 and 10 rebounds. Stephan Van Treese blocked three shots as well.
For Toyama Joe Werner had 16 points and 10 rebounds. Sam Willard grabbed 15 and 15 boards, and blocked one. Tatsunori Fujie had 15 points as well including draining 3 from beyond the three point line. Takeshi Mito had 14. Masashi Joho picked up 7 assists.
The following day the Albirex scored 96 to Toyama’s 87. Kennedy posted 32 on the day including 6 three pointers, 6 rebounds, 6 assists, and a block. Van Treese led the team with 10 rebounds on the day. Carter put up 13, 6 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 blocks.
For Toyama, Joho drained 4 three pointers on his way to 23 points. Werner put up 17, 11 more rebounds, and a block. Jamelle Horne had 17 of his own, 8 rebounds, and a block. Mito had 13, Willard scored 8 but added 14 rebounds.
