BRIDGEPORT, CT- The Purple Knights of Bridgeport welcomed in Brown Thursday night. The meet would go well for UB, though Brown would face some struggles. The end result was a 194.675 for the Knights and a 191.025 for Brown. Lissette La Fex of Bridgeport won the all around scoring a 38.75 which edged Brown’s Caroline Morant and her 38.4 and Michelle Shnayder’s 38.1 for Brown.

On the Vault, UB swept the event. Melissa Doucette flipped to a 9.825, Kamri Riles scored a 9.775 and La Fex a 9.75. When Bridgeport moved to Bars, La Fex was the best of the day posting a 9.875, she edged teammate Amber Hill’s 9.825, and Alexandra Chretien of Brown was third thanks to a 9.775.

On the Beam, Lisa Oakes was first for the Knights scoring a 9.75, Bethany DiCarlo took second for Bridgeport holding steady with a 9.725. Jenna Hamala-Smith and Brown’s Corey Holman tied for third with 9.65s.

To wrap up on the meet on Floor, Caitlin Perry and Doucette each had 9.85s for the home team, La Fex wasn’t far behind thanks to a 9.825. Shnayder had Brown’s highest score with a 9.775.

This was the first of three meets UB had scheduled that weekend, and Brown hosts them on Sunday.
