William and Mary at Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, MA- Records fell for both the men and women sunday afternoon at Blake Arena as SC’s Jon Zirna broke the school’s Pommel Horse record with a 15.15 during the Pride’s clash with William and Mary. The visitors took the meet 420.450 to 407.100 however. Zirna did top W&M’s J.J. Jindra though for the all around title 81.4 to 81.05.

On the Floor, Neal Courter of W&M took first with a 14.65. SC’s Sam Docherty had a team leading 13.8. Over on the Pommel’s Zirna’s score was good enough for first. Jason Wang of W&M took a 14.95 to top his team. Landon Funiciello of W&M scored a 15.9 on the Rings and Ryan Ponce held steady with a 15.2 for SC.The Vault title went to Courter and who flipped to a 15. Tucker McClure’s 14.4 was the best for the home team.

On the Paralell Bars Funiciello again was at the top scoring a 15.15. Springfield’s best came from Docherty and his 13.65. Finally on High Bar, Courter took the event thanks to a 14.15, and Brian Goan of SC had a 13.4 to lead the Pride.
