Yale Invitational

NEW HAVEN, CT- Fresh off a school record, Bridgeport made the quick jaunt up the interstate to take on the host Yale Bulldogs, and the Springfield College Pride. UB would pick up on the team with a 193.075 win on a day that found individual accolades for all the teams in involved. Yale picked up a 190.4 and SC a 185.625.

On Vault, Bridgeport’s Monica Mesalles Sallares took first with a her 9.85 as she continues to anchor the Purple Knight vault rotation. Her teammates Natalie Saimeri and Kamri Riles each had 9.775s. Yale’s Tara Feld had the third highest score of 9.725. SC’s top vaulter was Carly Flynn who’s 9.550 tied UB’s Zahra Stamps for the fourth highest VT score of the meet.

On the Uneven Bars, Yale’s Lindsay Andsager swung to a 9.850 winning the event. Teammate Nicole Tay picked up a 9.775, following her was Yale’s Morgan Traina and UB’s Emily Turik who each had 9.75s. Joyce Li of Yale, and Sasha Tsikhanovich, and Lissette La Fex of UB each had 9.725s. Springfield’s Nicole Caradonna had their best score of 9.350.

On the Beam, Bridgeport’s Emily Repko anchored the rotation and scored a 9.8. Second was Traina with her 9.725, third was Caroline McAvity thanks to a 9.75, Mesalles Sallares picked up a 9.7 as well. A 9.425 earned Kristina Lantos Springfield’s best score of the day.

On the Floor, Mesalles Sallares flipped to a 9.8, she was followed by Tara Feld of Yale and a 9.775. Brittany Baglow of SC broke into the top 3 with a 9.75, and Repko added a 9.7.

In the All Around, Sallares picked up a 38.525 edging Feld’s 38.5, and Traina’s 38.475. Maren Hopkins of Yale had a 37.6, and Baglow posted a 37.175.

Bridgeport is headed to Texas this week, Yale stays home to host Southern Connecticut, and Springfield meets that same Southern Connecticut at SCSU a day later along with West Chester.
