Penn State visits Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, MA- Penn State rarely ever visits Springfield, but on a Sunday afternoon the Nittany Lions entered Blake Arena to take on the host pride. The end result a 350.500 to 323.500 victory for PSU, but the highest score of the season for SC as well.

PSU’s Parker Raque with a 15.4 and Matt Chelberg with a 15.000 took 1st and 2nd on Floor, but Jimmy Pezzino of SC was third with a 14.6 and Chris Jost of SC and Matthew Felleman each earned 14.3s

On the Pommel Horse, Preston Gall of PSU had a 15.1 edging Felix Arnonovich of the Blue and White who had a 14.9. Pat Ryther of SC and Nestor Rodriguez of PSU each had a 13.6 for third. On the Rings, Scott Rosenthal of Penn State put up a 16.3. Next came Ryan Ponce of SC with a 15.2, and Felix Aronovich of PSU added a 15.000.

On Vault, PSU’s Tristan Duverglas scored a 15.000 for first, Raque had a 14.5, and Felleman a 14.4. SC’s Pezzino had their best score of 14.1

On the Parallel Bars it was Aronovich’s 15 leading the way. Tony Beck of PSU had a 14.7 and Felleman’s 14.2 was third. Ian Stratton and Kevin Miner had 13.2s. SC’s best score of the day.

Finally on High Bar, Aronovich took the even with his 14.9 Teammate Warren Yang added a 14.8, and Rodriguez had a 14.4. SC’s best scorers were Alex McCabe and Ian Stratton who picked up 13.5s.
