NEW BRITAIN, CT- Hartford pulled out to an early lead thanks to a goal by Breeanna Robinson in the first half, but three goals from Beth Lloyd, all in the second half pushed the Blue Devils to the win. Robinson had successfully dribbled it by Central goalkeeper Jamie Trayer in the first, and Lloyd knocked a goal past Hartford’s Lauren Brodeur using a penalty kick early in the 2nd. Lloyd later dribbled by Brodeur and kicked it into the net, and later sent a straight up kick past the Hawks keeper.
The first half was spent with numerous Blue Devil chances, but nothing found the net, only late did Hartford get a breakthrough and picked up the goal. In the second half things were far more even with each side getting their time down in the other’s end, but Central came up with the goals. It was quite a rough game with plenty of whistles being blown on both sides. Each side did plenty to break up offensive chances as well, as each defense was very spirited.
