(Scores from Troester)

It’s the WIR(Weekend in Review)lwind. Basically just scoring highlights for the meets I wasn’t at this weekend.

SUNY Brockport 187.6, MIT 182.15

The Golden Eagles from Brockport scored a 47.725 on Vault, Lauren Gildemeyer’s 9.675 led the team, and Kaitlin Dewey, Stephanie Baker and Carrie Rock were all close to that as well. Stacy Johnson’s 9.375 on Bars led the team, and she had a team leading 9.625 on the Balance Beam as well. Nicole Visnick added a 9.475 in her lone event of the Beam. On the Floor, Gildemeyer’s 9.825 set the pace, and baker and Christina Baggetta were within a few tenths. Gildemeyer’s 37.65 in the All Around took the AA title, and Stacy Johnson had a 37.2.

For the MIT Engineers, they were without Leanna Morinishi. Senior Julia Zimmerman closed out her last home meet with a 9.55 on the Vault and was joined with close scores form Beth Stavely and Karis Stevenson. On the Bars Zimmerman had a 9.5. Marie Heglund picked up a team leading 3.75 on the Beam, and Katie Mingo and Beth Stavely were not far off that pace. Zimmerman put up a 9.725 on the Floor, Mingo a 9.55, and Beth Stavely a 9.3. Zimmerman’s around score of 37.55 was good enough for a close second, and Stavely had a 36.875 and Mingo a 36.3.

It was a good day for both teams.

UNH 194.825, George Washington 193.9

Another meet with a lot of good results for the teams involved when these two EAGL rivals met up in Durham Among its steam scoring UNH scored a 49.075 on the Vault and a 49.1 on the Bars to win both events. The Wildcats also narrowly finished behind the Colonials 48.85 with their 48.825 on the Floor. GW won the Beam with a 48.575.

For UNH, Helena Diodati led the team on Vault with a 9.875, followed closely by Justine Turner, and Katie Caliendo, and Ali Carr, Diane Grey, and Chelsea Steinberg, were not far behind that either.

On the Bars, Carr scored a 9.9, Diodati a 9.85, Danielle Reibold a 9.8, and Grey, Keeley Smith and Katie Lawrence all scored 9.75 or above.

On the Beam, Taryn LaFountain scored a 9.9, and Chelsea Steinberg a 9.85. LaFountain also picked up a 9.825 on the Floor, followed by Smith’s 9.8 and Julie Sauchuk, Caliendo, and Diodati close behind. Diodati also finished with a 38.15 in the All Around.

For George Washington, Erin Quigg and Kristen Simpson’s 9.75 led their team on Vault. On the Bars, Bree Plotsker’s 9.825 topped Colonials, and Megan Quinn had a 9.8 and Christa Devine a 9.75. On the Bars, Plotsker and Leslie Delima both had 9.775s, and Devine a 9.7. On the Floor, Quinn and Simpson’s 9.825 set the pace, and Delima and Amanda Murphy were close as well. Delima won the All Around with a 38.65, and Murphy also picked up a 38.45
Temple 188.675, SCSU 187.825

In the battle of the Owls, Temple took the win with a score including a 47.7 on Vault and a 47.675 on the Bars. SCSU won the Floor and Beam with a 48.275 and a 47.05 respectively.

For the visitors from Temple, Katie Canning topped the team and the meet with a 9.7 on the Vault, Kaitlyn Watson had a 9.625, and Natasha Crawford a 9.575. On the Bars, Crawford had the top score of the team and the day with a 9.7, with Nikki Berrian’s 9.625 being the second best team score, and Danielle Viens adding a 9.575. On the Beam, Canning picked up a 9.675 and Crawford had a 9.525. On the Floor, Corrine Williams flipped to a team leading 9.75 followed closely by Canning and Crawford. Crawford took the All Around win with her 38.35 and Canning was only .15 behind.

The home Owls were led by Briana DiPinto’s 9.575 on Vault, and Sarah Darst’s 9.6 on Bars, followed by Justine Basley’s 9.575. On the Beam, DiPinto’s 9.675 was tops among blue and white, Alana Laecca added a 9.475 and Jessica Kiback a9.4. On the Floor, DiPinto had the meet high of 9.775, and Darst added a 9.7, Basley a 9.65, Samantha Laraway a 9.625, and Arianna Mallardi, and Taylor Wierzba both had 9.5s.
Basley also picked up a 37.65 in the All Around.

Not a bad day for either team it seems.

Alaska 192.775, Rutgers 192.05, Bridgeport 191.85

In one of the rarer meets one will see, Alaska came east and picked up the win while Rutgers set a new season high to top Bridgeport who also came away with a very good score.

Alaska won three events with their 48.3 on the Vault, 47.925 on the Bars, and 48.5 on the Floor. They also scored a 48.05 on the Beam.

Lauren Agostino picked up a 9.75 on the Vault, followed closely by teammates Shakea Sanders and Leah Wilson. On the bars, Kristy Boswell topped the team and the meet with a 9.8, Maria Puricelli and Wilson weren’t far behind either. Wilson se the pace on Beam with a 9.8, and Agostino wasn’t far behind. On the Floor, Sanders hit a 9.825, Agostino a 9.775, and Kaelei Spoor and Wilson were close behind. Wilson also had a 38.825 to win the All Around.

Rutgers won the Floor as well and the Beam with a 48.5 and 48.325 respectively. The Scarlet Knights also put up a 47.625 on the Bars. On the Vault Latara Northcutt’s 9.625 led the home team and Kiah Banfield, Danae Johnson, and Maddie Zwiebel weren’t far behind that. On the Bars, Erica Gerlach had a 9.75 and Kristy Behr was very close to that mark, and Ellese Gold was not far off that pace. Zwiebel’s 9.775 was first among knights on Beam, and Jessica Haddaway and Northcutt were within .1 and Brooke Schwanburger close as well. Banfield’s 9.775 was the top Floor mark, and Zwiebel, Johnson, and Nicole Schwartz were within .1 or better.

For the Purple Knights of Bridgeport, they posted a 48.025 on Vault, and a 48.475 on Floor. On the Vault Lorraine Galow hit a 9.775, Miranda Der was second among the team with her 9.625, and Amanda Goodman, Hannah Forti, and Jamie DePaola all had a 9.5 or better. On the Bars, Forti hit a 9.725, Galow a 9.675, and Leila Behbahani added a 9.575. On the Beam, Der took the lead with a 9.675 and Brooke Lawson added a 9.6. On the Floor, Galow powered to a 9.85, followed by Breanna Collins and her 9.775, Der’s 9.7, and Repko’s 9.6. Galow scored a 38.525 in the All Around and Der had a 38.25.

Good days all around, but Alaska takes the meet.
