The University of Rhode Island gymnastics team has reformed itself as a club and former varsity athletes are looking to join with other interested gymnasts to keep the club going. They had to cancel the Cast of Beatlemania concert, but have been holding smaller benefits being held as well in the URI area.

Also in motion are plans to keep the program going by calling for donations to a specific account of the URI Foundation. Donations may allow the team to afford club status, or even potentially varsity status again at a later date. The team has a coach now and will team presumably will also be looking for competitions for the fall and winter. This will be a developing story throughout the year.
