The UConn Volleyball team took over Gampel Pavilion for their home opener vs. Manhattan. It would be a pretty straightforward match as the Huskies would sweep the Jaspers 3-0. The Jaspers had struggled with serving in the match as well, and UConn gained the momentum often in front of a large crowd filled with students fresh from moving in. UConn not surprisingly puts the weight of a Division 1 program behind their events and gave the Volleyball team its support with audio visual introductions, background music, in between match entertainment and point by point commentary. I have a lot to learn about all the details of Volleyball scoring and I hope to provide more detail as time goes on.
